Chic Chat: Living Luxuriously in Puerto Rico
We love all things travel. The luxurious destinations, the chic cultures and the can't-stop-staring fashions are all inspiring. Our PR Assistant, Tara, recently took a trip to Puerto Rico we asked her to share her inspirations from her vacation.
So, why Puerto Rico?
I actually went for a wedding. A good friend moved down there a few years ago, fell in love and now it is his home base. I never realized how easy it is to get down there. The flight is only 4 hours, tickets are not that expensive and the island itself has a lot to offer.
What was your favorite sight?
I loved old San Juan. It's only seven square blocks, yet has so much history and culture. The narrow streets are paved in blue-tinted cobblestone, lined with restaurants with all different kinds of cuisines, churches, colonial architecture, monuments and fortresses. It's definitely a place to spend the whole day into evening.
What did you wear?
The weather was gorgeous! It was hot in the sun so I opted for lightweight fabrics. I made a point of going to the beach or pool every morning before our day activities started and used our Lush Crossdye Linen Lou Blouse as a cover-up. It’s so lightweight - the material breathes and it didn’t trap the heat.
Did you pick up any treasures?
I like to bring something special back with me every trip I go on - and not your typical knick-knack. Because we were so busy with wedding festivities during prime sight-seeing and shopping hours, I didn’t find anything I loved. I guess that’s just another excuse to go back!
Any recommendations?
Old San Juan is a must! I wasn’t able to see El Morro, San Cristobal or El Yunque as I was only there for three days, one being completely devoted to the wedding, however I was told those are not to be missed. I've always wanted to go to El Yunque, the mountain rainforest in the National Park. There are great waterfalls, pools to swim in, lookout towers and hiking trails.
